    Healing Paws

    … the beginning of a week in which I have very few things planned and have decided to spend much of the days working on my unleashed images … composites of two or more photographs plus some artwork and lots of imagination creating images that exist only in my minds eye.

    The image above is of an ancient tree trunk scarred and weathered, located in Sunset Crater national Monument. There was a great deal of fabulous wood to photograph up there prior to the Museum fire … hope it survived the fire and will check it out this spring when the snow is gone. The image evokes thoughts of forever, ancients and the vastness of the universe. An ancient spirit freed at last!

    Below is a composite that I first created several years ago … I had been on a walk around the golf course with a friend and I took this photo of her as she was backlit by the setting sun … in mere hours the sky free of scattered light from the sun opened a window into the universe as seen by me … guardian or gate keeper to forever!

    In the near future my work will be on display in the Booth Western Art Museum, in Cartersville, Georgia. It is one of the leading museums in the country and I invite you to check it out and plan a visit to see the exhibits in person. It is an honor and thanks to my friend Dick Berkowitz, who introduced me to the museum and helped facilitate it.

    The Irish band Teada will be performing at the Phillip England Center of the Performing Arts in Camp Verde this Friday March 24th at 7PM … click on the link to get full information on the performance and I hope to see you there. I love these traditional Irish performances.

    Time to wrap the day … have a beautiful day and share a smile with those you meet and greet.

    With joy!

    Ted

    Lord God, Thou who dost paint with magic touch
    The curtains of the soft silent night,
    This gift I ask, that o’er whatever cloth
    My brush may glide,now to and fro and round,
    There will come that which ever pleases Thee;
    For surely thou dost love the good of men.
    Help me to make the things that beauty hold …

    City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal
    By Tommy Acosta
    The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
