… it was a great day on the lake and besides having fun hunting for some good shots we actually got some. The shot above is of a Great Blue Heron beginning to get breeding plumage … he was posing on a narrow point of land that was poking out into the bay And the image below is a pair of Common Merganser hens that came barrelling by us in a very narrow bay … love that complete explosion of water as they took to the watery runway and soon entered flight.

The city sent me a link to the recorded Moment of Art presentation last night and if you would like to view it, click on the link in red above. When you get to the site, just click on the item that has Moment of Art in it. Runtime is about 11 minutes.t

Put March 25 and/or 26 on your calendar for an all new presentation at the Mary Fisher theater, 7PM on the 25th and 4PM on the 6th.

Busy day coming up and Friday it is down to Roosevelt Lake to see what we can get there … supposed to be a lot of eagles there.

Have an absolutely beautiful day and weekend … be back Monday morning … keep breathing and have fun.

    Cheers

So each one to his wish, and as for me,
    I sit tonight and wait
    In slumb’rous moonlight late,
To feel the freedom of the world in me
Like waves of a shoreless sea.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
