Like clouds, the rocks at Watson inspire many different thoughts … faces and figures abound and then you end up with someone like me, camera in hand and I shoot those images that tweak my curiosity and sort them out when I get home. I also got a lot of Blue Heron and Cormorant shots this last time on the lake, but it is the formations that fascinated me this time. Not having my 24/70 lens along was actually a help as I could just suck in images like this and forget about the landscape aspects of the scenery.
This image which I rotated 90 degrees reminds me of a BASE jumper, just as he was ready to go over the edge … or perhaps??? The reflection is on the right portion of the image and where water meets rock, the figure is bifurcated in the middle.
Got some business done in Phoenix and Scottsdale today and also checked out the boat ramps at Lake Pleasant … thence to Famous Wok for my usual steamed vegetables and Bourbon Chicken. Home and some relaxation. Winds are going to be high tomorrow so no flying and likely no boating … will cut the gem silica in the morning and if I get a stone finished will send a photo out tomorrow night, otherwise we’re into the weekend and I’ll be back Monday morning.
Let yourself be amazed at the beauty that surrounds you … and smile
Cheers

But let me smile each day

Hi Ted. Enjoy your photos. Wife loves Monument Valley. I just got her a photo of Sunrise at Hunts Mesa Viewpoint, 24X36″. Have it on a wall above a niche in a hall with a solar tube in front middle of the hall. Really looks like a sunrise all day, am and pm. Bigger Red Rocks than you normally shoot.
Reason why I am writing. What is that rock formation you shot? Says read more but no more. I assume it is not something natural, man carved, cut or whatever to get the great shape and design? If it is somewhere natural I want to see it. Great shot, thanks, Paul
