    … we live in a busy place … golfers passing by all day and when the golfers are not coming through, the intervals are filled with creatures taking their turn and in the early and late hours the creatures own the place.

    We have numerous herds of the diminutive Coues White Tail Deer in the area and a few days ago a small herd came through the backyard a little before sunset. All were young bucks and the velvet still on their spike antlers. Always a beautiful sight to witness them coming through and they spent about five minutes out back before moving on.

    Below is a photo of Lo IV one of our current resident bobcat walking along the arroyo out back a few weeks ago. We are blessed with an amazing amount of wildlife to share the area with and they show no fear as they go about their daily lives.

    Katie continues to expand her authority over everything around here is a gentle but firm manner. She is also learning the essential elements of physics as she leapt onto the dining room whilst running at full speed, landing near mid table and skidding off the far end at high speed … she is a funny and spirited young lady!

    I have started writing replies to your missives about One … kinda slow going, but hopefully I’ll be able to finish within a month … thank you again for caring.

    Have a beautiful day and share the joy you find in life with others … it is a beautiful little planet and we’re all just trying to find our way through it.

    And since that waking, often I drink deep
    The joy of dawn, and peace abides with me;

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
