… everything happens at warp speed … the Osprey above has thrust up and forward with his legs, released his talons from the branch and has fully extended his wings as he lifts off and is reaching for air … perhaps a tenth of a second has elapsed from the decision to enter flight.

In the photo below a Great Egret has also made the choice to enter flight and we have him looking like a helicopter going straight up from the shore he was wading looking for food and he is perhaps a half a second into flight.

Work on the portfolio continues with 12,000 images finding their way into the bit bucket over the past couple of days … another 30,000 to go and maybe more. Also have started on the show at the Mary Fisher Theater the 25th and 26th of March and nearly done with a presentation I will be giving to five photography classes at Sedona Red Rock HS a week from Friday … really looking forward to that one. Although the weather can hardly be deemed true winter weather, I am taking advantage of it to stay in and work on all things photography and resume my gem cutting.

I uploaded the photos of Finley and One to a shared folder today … if you made a donation to help Finley, Michele will be sending you the link to download them. They are both 18 x 12 and will make a beautiful print for you. Update on Finley tomorrow. Donate to Finley The photo at the top of the page when you click this donate link, is the photo you can download regardless of what your donation is.

I am very far behind in answering your emails … sorry, and will be working on them tomorrow. I appreciate receiving your comments and try to answer everyone who writes to me.

Have a beautiful day today … the only one you have; all the others have already been lived and no guarantee for another one, so smile and make it good! Keep breathing and rejoice.

    With Joy,

You are not poor if you
    love something, someone,
    humanity maybe, and have faith
    that you will somewhere,
    sometime be satisfied, though you
    know not how.

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
