… and maybe tomorrow too. This is a daffodil I shot on the visit to Filoli Gardens. It has a color combination that I enjoy, the white and greyish yellow … also an aphid is backlit aginst the white petal on the upper right of the flower. My first inclination was to take him off of the petal, but that would kind of betray having a natural shot, so here he is too, adding a little beauty to life and I was fortunate to capture the scene. Life at work … the bloom is gone but the gift to us is complete and memories of its beauty stored.

The copyedit of the book is done and a few more days of cleaning up all the little items that are necessary. Amazingly they take up a lot of time, oh well the only way to get it done is to do it.

Into my weekend, so have a day filled with love, friends and family … perhaps every day can be like that. Back Monday morning.

    Cheers

    Ted

…and soon darkness came on, and the lights of the city looked out into the night; and on my way back,
as I went by the magnificent church, it was silent and dark; yet I somehow fancied that I could still here the minister
    telling the people about Christ.

And as I turned away from the great stone arches of the magnificent church, now sullenly grand in the mystic glimmer
of the night, I remembered that the Son of Men wandered barefoot over the Judean hills,
and at night had not where to lay his head.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
