… prowling through the older folders again reaped rewards as I explored the photos shot with my early Olympus digital cameras … above is one of the first shots I took of the Confluence of the Colorado River with its emerald, green water and the Little Colorado River with its turquoise water. Cape Solitude is near the upper left corner of the photo … taken with the Olympus E-1 camera. I have hundreds of photos that are variants of this shot, but none of them have the qualities of this one … perhaps the softness of the light or a characteristic of the camera? This photo was a two-page spread in Arizona Highways.

The photo below was also taken with an Olympus E-1 camera … It was taken at Pleasant Valley airport in Peoria … Turf Soaring … after a terrific day of soaring. The sailplanes were back in the hangars and trailers, the clouds lit up and a guy flying his trike was just coming in for a landing. One of thousands of great memories of my soaring years!

Leaving in not that many hours for Lake Mary and see what we can see … storms projected for 10AM so we’ll be off before then … home and back to work on a couple of new stones … gotta take some shots of the new bolo too and will include one of it in Friday mornings missive.

Have an absolutely beautiful day … we are here, how could it be other than fantastic!!

    Smiles,

    Ted

O WORLD of green and shafts of golden sun; of
nightly, silver moonlight; and the strange
songs of lisping winds! O time of dreams, and trysts,
and olden memories come to life! Sweet summer, may
I sing as thou, for every leaf of thine is pregnant with
music in the soft winds, and every rose inspires the
tenderness of song. I yield myself to the thousand
enchantments of sky and field and wood, and play again
like a child on the soft green of the earth. And as the
God of the universe has made thee to bloom in tenderness,
so also may my heart be softened, and the
gardens of my life be made to bloom again.

I was talking to the Sedona.biz publisher/editor the other day, Tommy Acosta, and learned that our common friend Fernando Rivera of North Carolina passed away. It was reported that life and time caught him and then overcame him, and his heart quietly and suddenly failed.
