By Ted Grussing
… it looked like the world exploded as this widgeon erupted from the water this afternoon and I love the dramatic image you get when back lighting an event like this. Shot from the other side of the pond with the lighting on the widgeon I would have captured a beautiful shot of him in full color and still show a lot of water going up in the air above the pond … but the highlighted water drops and drama would be missing. So sometimes it is good to shoot into the sun, it is all a matter of what you are looking for in your images and the message you want to convey. Here I chose a dynamic display of pure energy and light and shadow.
Into the weekend for me … have a beautiful day and weekend … back Monday morning if all goes as planned.
Cheers,
Ted
