    … buddies, or so it seemed … a Mountain Blue Bird on the right and to his left a Western Blue Bird … ditto one in the background. This is from the shoots over the past weekend shooting Blue Birds and anything else that showed up at the pond. The pond was still a little frozen , but little patches of water were opening up around the log and they were getting water.

    The presentation went well this morning and thanks to all of you who showed up. My next subject there is going to be aerial photography of Northern Arizona and of course the grand jewel, Sedona. In September at KSB they left it pretty much up to me as long as associated with the dark sky theme … maybe I’ll leave my lens cover on the lens … naw, it is going to be pretty much a mixture of all the best shots I like.

    I put the embed code on http://tedandcorky.com/videos.html and the video is in the upper right quadrant of the webpage and is captioned “ Sharing with …” Think you will enjoy it.

    Down to the valley tomorrow so this is a wrap for the day and the week. Back Monday morning and hope each day is filled with joy for you.

    Smiles

    Sleep sweetly now that the gates of the crimson night are closed,
    and leave tomorrow’s struggle for tomorrow;
    The earth is peaceful, only the stars and still moon are abroad, and they wage no war.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
