… and a wonderful weekend it was … much time going through photos and faceting gems … just a couple hours left on one I started yesterday and photos to follow.
In the photo above a Great Egret has just speared a fish on the fly and is preparing to wheel up and out of the area; I love the way his right wing is spread and curved just centimeters above the lake surface and his snack securely speared on his beak.
Below is another Great Egret with his catch flying straight at us. He was only about twenty-five feet from us when I got this shot, and it was a full frame image … just downsized it to get this.
Shooting an American Kestrel release tomorrow morning at a friend’s ranch in the village … Michele will be coming down to set up a shelter for it and then release the little one. Life is so amazing!
Have a beautiful day, smile and keep breathing … be kind!
Cheers,
Ted
ONE morn I rose and looked upon the world.
“Have I been blind until this hour?” I said.
O’er every trembling leaf the sun had spread,
And was like golden tapestry unfurled;
And as the moments passed more light was hurled
Upon the drinking earth athirst for light;
And I beholding all this wondrous sight,
Cried out aloud. “O God, I love Thy world!”
And since that waking, often I drink deep
The joy of dawn, and peace abides with me;
And though I know again I shall see
Dark fear with withered hand approach my sleep,
More sure am I when lonely night shall flee,
At dawn the sun will bring good cheer to me.
