… this morning was a first for me … with the new electric motor we headed down to Lynx Lake in Prescott … another first was launching into the lake with no dock to make it easy to get in and out of the boat. We did amazingly well with Jim in the boat as we launched and then maneuvering the boat to shore near the launch ramp where I was able to get in after I parked the car and trailer.
We spent about two and a half hours on the lake and got some fun shots … a few Belted Kingfishers played with us and the photo above is one of them just as he left his perch on a branch and entered flight.
Somewhere near the front of all the water splash in the image below is a Chocolate Lab who has gone after a toy that the owners threw out for him to retrieve … much fun trying to find him in the chaos …
As beautiful as the lake is, not likely that I will be going back there as even on a non holiday work day there were people and dogs all around the lake which discourages wildlife from frequenting the area … sure enjoyed the visit though and learning how to use the electric motor … absolutely perfect for the smaller lakes we will be spending time on.
There are still some tickets available for my show Sunday afternoon at the Alice Gill Sheldon Theater … hope to see you there! This will be my last show until next fall!
Into the weekend … have beautiful days … cherish life, friends and family!
Cheers,
Ted
For a few hours here in the still morning I wash myself
clean of civilization, and purge myself of things and
the accumulated rubbish of time.
I push back history, dismiss interpreters, and stand
erect before the dawn, looking the universe in the face,
and asking my own questions.
To-morrow I shall return to the human wheels; but
now I defy the world of customs and laws, of sophistry
and serfdom; and I yield myself childlike to the light
and the air and the sweet-scented dew.
A bird flies through the sky and I fly with it. I am in
each pearl of moisture sparkling in the sun. I lie lazy
on the clouds. And I acknowledge my kinship with
each winged thing.
I see all as one. and nothing repels me, as this new
day climbs noiselessly out of the valley of night.
Peace lies over the world and over the world of my soul.
