Sedona, AZ — Empowering women with the knowledge to make informed healthcare decisions benefits not only those individuals, but is vital for healthy families, healthy communities, and a healthy society. Women are the gatekeepers of their family’s health; when women are healthier, everyone benefits. The Sedona Women are excited to present Women’s Health on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, at the Community Library Sedona, where TSW programs are scheduled monthly every second Thursday from September through May from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

We will be focusing on three specific health concerns: Alzheimer’s Disease, Breast Cancer, and Cardiology.

Dr Anna Burke, M.D., is the Director of the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Division, and the Director of Neuropsychiatry, at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. She specializes in geriatric psychiatry and is board certified in psychiatry with a subspecialty certification in geriatric psychiatry. She completed her geriatric psychiatry fellowship at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Burke has led numerous clinical trials of investigational drugs, neuromodulation, environmental modifications, prevention methods, and novel neuroimaging techniques for cognitively impaired patients with neurodegenerative disorders.

Dr. Burke will help us understand the cognitive changes that are observed with dementia and how these differ from changes experienced with normal aging. In addition, she will discuss the risk factors for dementia and the preventive measures women should be aware of.

Dr. Beth DuPree, M.D., is board-certified in general surgery and integrative and holistic medicine with 38 years of experience and is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the surgical care and management of breast cancer. In addition to the surgical oncology practice she started at Redeemer Health, Huntingdon Valley, PA, a Cooper–MD Anderson Cancer Affiliate, she serves as a medical advisor to transformative health-technology companies advancing bioelectric medicine, neuromodulation, and integrative approaches to healing. She is committed to bring transformative technologies to the forefront of western medicine.

Dr. DuPree’s career has been committed to treating diseases of the breast with state-of-the art western medical technology and educating her colleagues and the cancer community. She is a passionate advocate for promoting the true healing of the body, mind, and spirit of all her patients. Cancer survivorship begins with mental well-being.

Dr. DuPree is a highly sought-after inspirational speaker. She is dedicating the next chapter of her career to survivorship, disease prevention, and optimizing health and wellness to enhance longevity. She is the author of The Healing Consciousness: A Doctor’s Journey to Healing and Shifting Gears: Living Life With Intention. Both books are honest, deeply personal explorations of her evolution from surgeon to healer.

Dr. DuPree emphasizes that breast cancer prevention and early detection save lives.

Dr. Deirdre Donaghy, M.D., is a board certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology, associated with hospitals in both Pennsylvania and Virginia. Over the past 39 years, her primary focus has always been patient care and especially patient safety. She has also worked with industry to help assure appropriate use of cardiac testing and implantable devices, such as pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr. Donaghy takes a personalized approach to heart health. She will advise us and help us to understand the silent signals — the early signs of cardiac disease in women and how they differ from those in men. In addition, she will discuss the most important preventive strategies for women to avoid cardiac disease.

This February 12th program is open to the public, at the Community Library Sedona, 3250 White Bear Road in West Sedona. A meet-and-greet will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program and Q&A at 10 a.m. To learn more about The Sedona Women or to become a member, visit thesedonawomen.com or contact thesedonawomen@gmail.com.
