Sedona, AZ – Understanding the importance of safeguarding your personal information using proactive strategies to help you secure your digital footprint, protect your assets, and reduce your overall risk of fraud is essential for you and your family in today’s environment. The Sedona Women (TSW) are excited to present Cyber Safety and Fraud Protection on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Community Library Sedona, where TSW programs are scheduled monthly every second Thursday from September through May from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Justin Nichols is a seasoned expert in fraud and cybercrime. His investigative work and tactical experience in law enforcement as a Field Training Officer, Major Crimes Detective, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and SWAT Operator provided firsthand insight into criminal behavior, fraud schemes, and the real-world methods criminals use to target individuals and businesses.  After transitioning to the private sector, Justin founded and operated multiple businesses, including Auxilium Consulting. Auxilium specializes in risk management, identity theft, and cybercrime investigations, and is dedicated to teaching individuals, families, and organizations how to protect themselves from scams, fraud, and personal safety threats.

Drawing from years of investigative experience, Justin will show us how to spot red flags, think like a criminal, and create a layered strategy of defense.  You will be empowered with the knowledge and tools needed to stay ahead of today’s evolving threats, and will understand how modern scams work, how to detect them early, and how to protect yourself and your family from financial loss and reputational damage.

    Topics include:

    • Phishing awareness and defense: Recognize deceptive emails, texts, and calls designed to steal personal or financial information. Understand the psychological tactics scammers use to manipulate victims.
    • Mail and package fraud prevention: Practical strategies to protect against identity theft via intercepted or fraudulent mail, including check fraud, credit offers, and package delivery scams.
    • Social media and online risk management: Identify the risks of oversharing online, privacy vulnerabilities, and methods cybercriminals use to exploit personal and organizational profiles. Learn actionable steps to secure accounts and protect digital reputations.
    • AI-driven and emerging scams: Understand the latest threats posed by artificial intelligence, deepfakes, synthetic identities, and other cutting-edge criminal tactics. Stay informed to anticipate and prevent the next wave of fraud.
    • Comprehensive protection strategies: Walk away with practical, step-by-step measures to monitor accounts, verify information, respond to suspicious activity, and educate others.

This October 9th program is open to the public, space permitting, at the Community Library Sedona, 3250 White Bear Road in West Sedona. A meet-and-greet will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program and Q&A at 10 a.m. Doors will open to nonmembers at 9:45 a.m. To learn more about The Sedona Women or to become a member, visit thesedonawomen.com or contact thesedonawomen@gmail.com.
