    Prescott AZ (August 5, 2020) – UPDATE – In the early evening hours of July 27th, Officers with the Phoenix Police Department located suspect Matthew Scott Bywater in the 4300 block of 19th Avenue in Phoenix.  Bywater was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.  He was wanted on a probation violation warrant stemming from a 2018 burglary in the Cordes Lakes area.  Bywater has since been transferred to the Yavapai County Jail where he is currently in custody.

    Prescott AZ (July 19, 2020) – It’s day 19 of Yavapai Silent Witnesses Catch 22 Program.  Today the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Matthew Scott Bywater.

    On August 3, 2018, Bywater and another suspect entered the victim’s home in the 20,000 block of Cactus Wren in Cordes Lakes, AZ and stole three firearms and $900 in cash.  The total loss to the victims was approximately $2300.  Bywater was arrested but has since violated his probation in reference to this case.  As a result, Bywater has a no bond statewide extraditable warrant for a probation violation stemming from charges of 1st Degree Burglary and False Reporting to Law Enforcement.

    Bywater is described as a 20-year-old white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  His last known address was in the 4300 block of 19th AVE in Phoenix.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
