City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (January 31, 2013) – Have you ever wanted to have professional looking faux-painted walls but just couldn’t afford to have it done? It’s not as hard to do as you think. If you’ve ever thought of doing this yourself, set aside February 18 and 25, 2013 on your calendar. That’s when Sedona Parks and Recreation brings Linda Coffman in to teach her very popular class-“Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls”.

The class is taught in two parts. Part one covers the basic looks of classic, Tuscan and metallic. This class will run from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on February 18. Part two on February 25 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. takes off from part one and combines more popular approaches such as suede, rustic and modern. Both classes will be held at the Recreation Room at 525 Posse Ground Road.

Coffman’s approach reveals secrets of the pros. She has been in the wallpapering and faux-painting business for over 18 years. Her work is featured in businesses, hotels, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and fine homes throughout the Minnesota area and in Arizona. Hundreds are now using her special techniques to create their own professional looking faux-painted walls.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
