Sedona News – Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Sedona Referrals Club (SRC), which has been serving the professional business community of Sedona and the Verde Valley since 1993, recently announced its new Board of Directors for 2023-24. Elected by the Club’s 18 members as of June 1, 2023, the new SRC President is Village of Oak Creek resident Stephen Hanks, the owner of Red Rocks Writer, an independent writing and editing business. Hanks will also serve as the Club’s Publicity Chair. SRC’s new Vice-President is Karen Cole of State Farm Insurance in Camp Verde (also Membership Chair). Rounding out the SRC Board of Directors for 2023-24 are:

Bill Klauser, BiosLife Slim in West Sedona (Treasurer); Sandy Barrett, Red Rocks Taxes in the Village of Oak Creek (Secretary); and Cindy Crossett, Crossett Financial Services in Cottonwood (Referrals Master).

The Sedona Referrals Club is a not-for-profit business network of professional men and women with members from Sedona, the Verde Valley, and Flagstaff. At weekly meetings, members share information on their businesses and support each other with referrals through their many personal and professional connections. They also introduce potential new Club members. Each business category is represented by only one member and conflicts of interest are prohibited. SRC, which now boasts 18 members from a wide variety of local businesses, meets weekly on Wednesday morning at 7 am at Red Rock Café in the Village of Oak Creek (100 Verde Valley School Rd. #107, Sedona, AZ 86351).

“It’s all about the power of referral marketing,” says Hanks, “and our Club members are extremely supportive of each other. If you own or run a business in Sedona or the Verde Valley area and want to grow your customer base and build your brand, being a member of SRC is a great way to accomplish that.”

As of June 2023, the SRC membership also includes the following people and businesses (base of operation is in parenthesis, but their businesses serve the entire Verde Valley and Northern Arizona area): Architect Paul D. Cate, Cate Design (Cottonwood); Becky Crockett, Unlimited RE/Property Management (Sedona); Rob Fallows, Team Logic IT (Flagstaff); Tracie Hansen, International Minute Press (Flagstaff); Gina Hull, Realtor at Coldwell Banker Realty dba Hull AZ Homes (Sedona); Volodar Kuzyk, Kuzyk Healing Arts Acupuncture (Sedona); Lisa Lopez, Live Happy Coaching (Flagstaff); Steven Martin, Critter Control (Prescott Valley); Dr. Dianna Mendoza, Casner Mountain Healing Center (Cottonwood); Larry Phillips, SuperTree Tree Service (Flagstaff); Camilla Ross, Emerson Theater Collaborative (VOC); John Smoley, Cross Country Mortgage (Camp Verde); Tim Warren, Mammoth Pest Control (Flagstaff).

New SRC members are considered after invitation only and get a complimentary breakfast at their introductory meeting. For more information about the Sedona Referrals Club and for an invitation to attend, contact Karen Cole, Membership Chair at: 928-300-2763.

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
