    October 26–November 22, 2026 | Sedona Arts Center

SEDONA, AZ — Following nine days of painting and artistic exploration throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley, Sedona Arts Center presents Sedona Plein Air at 22, an exhibition featuring original paintings created during the 22nd Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival. The exhibition opens October 26 and continues through November 22, 2026, at Sedona Arts Center’s Special Exhibition Gallery in Uptown Sedona.

The annual festival, held October 16–24, brought together 25 accomplished plein air artists from across the country to capture the extraordinary beauty of Sedona and the surrounding landscape. Working outdoors and responding directly to changing light, color, atmosphere, and weather, the artists created original works reflecting their individual interpretations of the region.

From dramatic red rock formations and expansive desert vistas to intimate scenes of the Verde Valley, the resulting paintings celebrate the diversity of artistic approaches that make plein air painting such a compelling tradition.

The festival may have concluded, but the opportunity to experience and collect its artwork continues.

Sedona Plein Air at 22 offers visitors the chance to explore paintings created throughout festival week, including works produced during special paint-outs, artist demonstrations, and independent painting sessions. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see Sedona through the eyes of 25 professional artists, each bringing a distinctive perspective and painting style to the landscape.

All exhibited paintings are available for purchase, giving art collectors and visitors an opportunity to take home original artwork inspired by Sedona while directly supporting the participating artists and Sedona Arts Center.

Celebrating its 22nd year, the Sedona Plein Air Festival is one of Sedona’s signature annual events, bringing artists and art enthusiasts together to celebrate the tradition of painting outdoors. The festival reflects Sedona’s longstanding identity as an arts destination and the important relationship between creative expression and the natural environment.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Sedona Arts Center supports artists through exhibitions, festivals, educational opportunities, and community programming. Artwork purchases help sustain the participating artists and support the organization’s mission of connecting people through the arts.
