[SEDONA/VERDE VALLEY, AZ] The Sedona International Film Festival, in partnership with Unify Sedona Verde Valley, invites the community to a vibrant Pride Month celebration featuring an acclaimed romantic comedy and a colorful Bollywood-style party designed to bring people together through film, culture, and connection on Saturday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
The event will feature a special screening of the acclaimed film A Nice Indian Boy, followed by a lively Bollywood-style celebration in the theatre courtyard. The event brings together Pride Month, cultural celebration, and community connection in a joyful evening.
Filled with humor, heart, and cultural richness, A Nice Indian Boy tells the story of Naveen, a young Indian American man who brings his fiancé Jay home to meet his traditional family. As they navigate expectations, acceptance, and wedding plans, the film explores themes of love, identity, family, and belonging with warmth and authenticity. Starring Karan Soni (Deadpool) and Tony Award-winning actor Jonathan Groff, the film has delighted audiences with its charm, humor, and uplifting message.
Following the screening, guests are invited to continue the celebration at a vibrant Bollywood-themed reception featuring dessert platters, beverages, music, community, and a costume contest. Inspired by the color, music, and joyful spirit of Bollywood, the celebration invites attendees to dress boldly, connect with friends old and new, and experience an evening filled with energy and fun.
“Stories have the power to open hearts and build understanding,” said Tracey McConnell, Executive Director of Unify Sedona Verde Valley. “This event combines laughter, culture, and community in a way that celebrates both Pride Month and our shared humanity.”
The evening is designed to bring people together across backgrounds and generations while celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the power of authentic storytelling.
