Sedona AZ (November 3, 2011) – The Sedona Heritage Museum’s annual Veteran’s Day tribute will be on Friday, November 11th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Museum. The program will honor veterans and active service people.
This year’s event will begin with a stirring program honoring our veterans, with a special tribute to the Museum’s long-time member and Historian Sherman Loy, a career Army major who passed away earlier this year. The National Anthem will be performed by army veteran and award winning vocalist Katherine LaTorraca. Veteran Specialist Six LaTorraca served from 1982-1985 as featured soloist with the United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus. She has performed at numerous venues in the United States and Europe and at the 40th Anniversary of D-Day in France. Sedona Boy Scout Troop #48 will perform the flag ceremony.
After the formal program, lunch will be served in the Museum’s historic fruit packing shed. Diners will be entertained by Dick Curtis, a Marine veteran of WWII and Korea who will perform music from the 1940s-1960s
Shuttle service will be provided from the lower parking lot at the Sedona Heritage Museum. Lunch by Lynn’s Casual Kitchen.
