20110927 booksigningThompson Graves is a granddaughter of John James (J.J.) Thompson, Oak Creek Canyon’s first permanent Anglo settler. She was born and raised in the canyon. Her new book is a collection of stories about her grandfather, parents, and other members of the Thompson family and some of their neighbors who built a life along Oak Creek. Many are based on the stories she started recording in a notebook in the 1960s. She also checked her stories with family and other pioneers and pioneer descendants.
