Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to join theaters around the country to present “RiffTrax Live: Point Break” showing Aug. 8 and 13 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre.
The stars of Mystery Science Theater are back for their 35th RiffTrax Live show! Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett will riff “Point Break” in theaters nationwide!
“Point Break” is possibly the most ’90s movie ever made and undoubtedly the pinnacle of the “FBI infiltrates bank robber gang through surfing” genre. We promise the laughs will be as extreme as the action.
Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) is an FBI agent who embarks on an unconventional assignment: the agency needs him to learn how to surf in order to stop the Ex-Presidents, a gang of armed robbers who will stop at nothing to make off with millions of dollars just in time to catch some sweet waves at high tide. Skydiving and Anthony Kiedis also feature prominently because, as previously mentioned, it was the ’90s.
Patrick Swayze, Gary Busey and Lori Petty round out the all-star cast.
“RiffTrax Live: Point Break” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
