Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to join theaters around the world to present the global encore of “North by Northwest” — celebrating its 65th Anniversary — showing May 19 and 22 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre.
An advertising executive finds himself in a lethal cross-country chase after being mistaken for a spy in “North by Northwest” — directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
The film was nominated for three Academy Awards — including one for screenwriter Ernest Lehman — and features iconic performances by Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason.
This classic suspense film finds New York City ad executive Roger O. Thornhill (Cary Grant) pursued by ruthless spy Phillip Vandamm (James Mason) after Thornhill is mistaken for a government agent. Hunted relentlessly by Vandamm’s associates, the harried Thornhill ends up on a cross-country journey, meeting the beautiful and mysterious Eve Kendall (Eva Marie Saint) along the way. Soon Vandamm’s henchmen close in on Thornhill, resulting in a number of iconic action sequences.
“North by Northwest” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre May 19 and 22. Showtimes will be Sunday, May 19 at 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
