Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “War Game” showing Aug. 16-22 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
A real-life political thriller set on January 6, 2025, “War Game” imagines a nation-wide insurrection in which members of the US military defect to support the losing Presidential candidate, while the winning candidate and his advisors war game the crisis in the White House situation room.
The film follows a bipartisan group of US defense, intelligence, and elected policymakers spanning five presidential administrations as they participate in an unscripted role-play exercise.
Portraying a fictional President of the United States and his advisors, they confront a political coup backed by rogue members of the US military in the wake of a contested 2024 presidential election. They have six hours to save democracy as the country teeters on the brink of civil war.
“War Game” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre Aug. 16-22. Showtimes will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16, 17 and 18 at 4:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 20, 21 and 22 at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
