Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present “The Birds” 60th Anniversary on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 22 and 23 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre.

“The Birds” is the fifth film in a month-long tribute to Alfred Hitchcock with a special “Hitchcock-tober” series in October.
“The Birds’ features an all-star ensemble cast including Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Special Visual Effects.
Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” — celebrating its 60th anniversary — is an unforgettable masterpiece that is considered one of the most terrifying films from the Master of Suspense.
When beautiful, blonde Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) travels to Bodega Bay in pursuit of eligible bachelor Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor), she is inexplicably attacked by a seagull. Suddenly, thousands of birds begin to flock into town, preying on schoolchildren and residents in a terrifying series of attacks.
Mitch and Melanie must fight for their lives against a deadly force that cannot be explained or stopped in this film that makes you want to “hold onto something and watch!” (Leonard Maltin’s Classic Movie Guide).
“The Birds” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, or $9 for Film Festival members.
