A sculptor preparing to open a new show must balance her creative life with the daily dramas of family and friends, in Kelly Reichardt’s vibrant and captivatingly funny portrait of art and craft.
Lizzy (Michelle Williams) is a struggling artist who lives and works in Portland. She has an upcoming exhibition that she’s working towards, but she has a lot to deal with, including a brother with a mental illness, a job working for her mother at an arts and crafts store and no hot water in her apartment. It all becomes too much for Lizzy to bear.
