SEDONA, Ariz. – The City of Sedona invites the community to come to the Sedona Community Library on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to show their appreciation for the firefighters and first responders who worked to protect the community during the Pocket Fire near Sedona.
As part of the America 250 celebration, the city of Sedona put up 74 banners across the community. On Aug. 26, the banners will be brought to the Sedona Community Library, where residents, families, and others can stop by to sign the banners with messages of gratitude, creating a lasting reminder of the community’s appreciation for those who answered the call to protect the Sedona area during the fire.
After the signing event, the banners will be sent to the primary Pocket Fire response agencies who will make sure they get distributed to the broader responding organizations.
“This is an opportunity for our community to come together to say ‘Thank you!’ in a way that will last,” said Josh Frewin, Parks and Recreation Director. “More than 70 agencies responded to protect our community during the Pocket Fire. Now we have the opportunity to send them messages of thanks from the people of Sedona.”
Community members and their families are encouraged to stop to add their signature and a personal message of thanks.
The community banner signing takes place Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sedona Community Library, 3250 White Bear Rd.
