Sedona AZ (September 30, 2013) = Nancy Rob Dunst, a 20 year Sedona resident, speaks out about the two “gatekeepers,” city staff members who refused to follow a direction given them by the city council. Ms. Dunst had asked, and was given permission, to write a grant to bolster funding for the arts in Sedona, and to engage others in supporting arts education in Sedona schools.

As usual, Nancy’s creative approach focuses on how programs can be improved, and certainly additional funding would have allowed the school arts program to impact more children and involve more artists. I hope the best for the city’s new approach and new staff, but I will certainly miss the energetic, creative, generous, and tenacious Nancy Robb Dunst. Her advocacy for using art to teach and for the artist community as a whole will be a challenge to duplicate.
