Statewide investment supports nonprofit arts and culture organizations throughout Arizona
[Sedona, Ariz.]—August 20, 2026— Sedona Arts Center (SAC) has been awarded a $16,000 Creative Capacity Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts as part of the agency’s Fiscal Year 2027 investment in nonprofit arts and culture organizations across the state.
Creative Capacity Grants provide general operating support to nonprofit arts and culture organizations whose primary mission is to produce, present, teach or serve the arts. The funding will help Sedona Arts Center continue its year-round work connecting the community through arts education, exhibitions, festivals, cultural events and creative experiences.
“Public investment in the arts strengthens communities by making creativity, education and cultural experiences accessible to more people,” said Julie Richard, CEO of Sedona Arts Center. “We are grateful to the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts for this support and for recognizing the important role arts organizations play in communities across the state.”
The Arizona Commission on the Arts announced 409 grant awards totaling $2,655,846 for Fiscal Year 2027 to nonprofit arts organizations, festivals and arts learning programs throughout Arizona. Of those awards, 275 organizations received Creative Capacity Grants.
The statewide grant funding includes a one-time $2 million legislative appropriation for Fiscal Year 2027, supplementing existing state and federal funding administered by the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
For more than 68 years, Sedona Arts Center has served artists, students, residents and visitors through exhibitions, arts education, festivals and community programming.
