Sedona, AZ — On April 17th, 2026 the Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority (SOCAA) released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of approximately 2.97 acres on the southwest corner of the airport for hangar construction.
This milestone development represents a culmination of years of work by SOCAA staff and Board Members to open the Airport Mesa for development. Most recently, the SOCAA Board of Directors approved the acceptance of a loan for $1.67M from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) for the construction of an enhanced fire suppression water system. This system expands the fire-fighting capacity in compliance with Sedona Fire District Policy and building code, enabling vertical construction on the airport for the first time since 1993.
The airport’s intent is to leverage existing infrastructure to meet the growing demand for hangar space for individual and business aircraft storage needs, cementing the Sedona Airport’s position as an economic powerhouse in the Verde Valley.
Parties interested in submitting a proposal may view the RFP at SedonaAirport.org. Additional information regarding the RFP process, submittal requirements and project timelines can be found in the RFP document. Any questions regarding the RFP should be directed to the Airport Deputy General Manager, Cameron Atkins by emailing cameron@sedonaairport.org.
