Yavapai County, AZ – In a collaborative effort, MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization focused on preventing youth drug use, has partnered with the Prescott Valley Police Department, Fry’s Pharmacy and the Chino Valley Police Department. These joint partnerships offer residents a safe and appropriate method for disposing of unwanted medications. |
Since 2008, Yavapai County has successfully collected and safely disposed of over 47,000 pounds of medication. This significant achievement is a result of dedicated efforts, such as Dump the Drugs events, and a countywide network of drop box locations, all made possible through strong community partnerships.
The Prescott Valley Police Department is partnering with Fry’s Pharmacy while the Chino Valley Police Department hosts a separate event at the same time for the “Dump the Drugs” prescription drug take-back day. These events will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, offering community members a safe and convenient method to dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
Both events will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
