Prescott News – The Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour will return over the weekend of October 4-6, 2024, offering attendees an opportunity to visit with 74 juried artists across 53 private studios (as well as additional artists in four Art Centers), observe their creative processes and purchase one-of-a-kind works of art. Each year, attendees of the Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour report that one of the most intriguing aspects is the opportunity to observe artists as they actively demonstrate their craft. This experience allows attendees to learn about the materials, techniques and processes used in creating a work of art, while forging a personal connection with the artists. Among many others, the Tour’s diverse selection of artists will include:

    • Dale Andress, Metal Sculpture. Dale has been making art in one form or another for as long as he can remember. He leans toward sculpture for the tactile sensation in creating and viewing. Dale will appear at Tour Studio #29: Andress Studio, 246 W. Soaring Ave in Prescott.
    • Denise Incao, Ceramics. Denise creates abstract expressionistic wall pieces, as well as whimsical and functional vessels and everyday ware. Her work is earthy and organic, drawing on the inspiration of Mother Earth. She works without preliminary drawings, allowing each piece to unfold organically. Her art is a celebration of life! Meet Denise at Tour Studio #47, Denise Incao Studio, 450 W. Gina Marie Blvd. in Paulden.
    • Sandy Combs, Painting. Sandy is a long-time Prescott resident who gets her inspiration from the Arizona and Rocky Mountain landscapes and wildlife. She paints in oils, watercolors and pastels to express her passion in capturing the colors, lights and shadows that she sees, painting in a traditional and representational style. Sandy will appear at Tour Studio #25: Golden Arts Studio, 2885 W. Levie Lane in Prescott.
    • Maryhelen Ewing, Painting. Maryhelen’s favorite things to paint are people, landscapes and animals. She works from life as much as possible, or otherwise from her own photographs with a few exceptions here and there with permission. Meet Maryhelen at Tour Studio #33: Little Gallery on 6th Street, 697 6th St., Unit 600 in Prescott.
    • Alison Heavirland, Jewelry. Alison’s jewelry designs reflect organic movement and shapes. Each piece radiates joy and connection, enhancing the moment with her valued customers. She is dedicated to bringing everyday elegance and style with designs inspired by nature’s beauty. Alison will appear at Tour Studio #6: AH Metalworks, 697 6th St., Ste 106 in Prescott.
    • Patty Lindsey, Glass. Patty started first with stained glass, then moved to metal sculptures, and has finally blended the two together to create sculptural glass. Discovering glass again has become a powerful medium for Patty, from the fire and heat to the instant gratification of design. Find Patty at Tour Studio #26: Glass Goons, 4455 N. Juniper Dr. in Chino Valley.
    • Holly Weisel, Painting. Holly describes oil paintings as “luscious” and watercolors as “wild and unexpected” – and she enjoys both! Painting outdoors is her sport of choice. Guiding mules into Bryce Canyon and working with horses for most of her life makes for some beautiful paintings of amazing animals and places. Holly will appear at Tour Studio #44: Thunderheart Jewelry, 11301 N. Sleek Way in Prescott Valley.
    • Carol Ward, Fiber Art. A colorful palette of botanically dyed silk and linen threads interwoven with prayers brings Carol’s vision to life in tiny tapestries. She creates woven reflections, prayers and stories about the beauty in nature, light, color, joy and faith through abstract, symbolic impressionistic imagery. Meet Carol at Tour Studio #23: Blue Violet Prayers, 455 Bernice Dr. in Chino Valley.

Most artists on the Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour will be raffling one of their works. Raffle tickets may be purchased and used at any Tour location. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund art programs for children in the Quad-City area as well as next year’s Tour. The winning tickets will be drawn at each location after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that strives to educate the public about how and why artists create their work. Supported in part by the City of Prescott, the Prescott Area Arts & Humanities Council and the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the Tour also fosters an appreciation of the arts and promotes art education.
