logo_MATForceCamp Verde AZ (December 18, 2019) – Parents and caregivers often struggle to know how to handle difficult behaviors from children, particularly when children have experienced trauma.  MATFORCE and the Yavapai County Community Health Services are offering a free parenting/caregiver workshop that will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Camp Verde Community Library, Terracotta Room, 130 Black Bridge Loop Road in Camp Verde.

Expert and Dynamic Speaker Stacey Gagnon will discuss the importance of a trauma informed parenting approach.  Stacey is a certified teacher and Registered Nurse. Stacey has adopted five special needs children and has fostered over 50 children with her husband Darren.

Through this Trauma Lens Care (TLC) workshop those who work with children from hard places (foster parents, adoptive parents, caregivers, social workers, teachers, etc.) will gain knowledge and understanding about how to effectively handle difficult behaviors in children.  For more information on Trauma Lens Care (TLC) go to www.traumalenscare.org.
