Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) has released its 2030 Strategic Plan to guide the organization’s work. NAH created this set of goals and priorities after nearly two years of listening to more than 4,000 people in the region, including community members, patients, colleagues and providers, to understand the region’s needs.

The listening sessions were incredibly useful, as consistent themes emerged from all of the people with whom we connected. We shared those themes with the NAH Board of Directors, which spent months revising the themes into a set of strategic imperatives to guide our work.

From 2025 to 2030, NAH will:

    1) Put our people and community first.

    2) Advance our path to clinical excellence.

    3) Grow our reach (including the construction of a modern regional referral hospital facility).

    4) Achieve financial and organizational stability.

Each of those imperatives is supported by a strategic objective and six strategic initiatives, all of which is available on the NAHealth.com website. These elements all emerged from the listening sessions we conducted via dedicated conversations, individual interviews, formal focus groups, plus anonymous and broad community surveys.

“I have worked on numerous strategic plans and none of the others have been based so firmly on what the community told us it wanted to see,” said Dave Cheney, Chief Executive Officer of NAH. “It’s inspiring to know our Board of Directors and our leadership team have together crafted a plan that truly reflects what the region needs and wants from NAH because we listened to those we serve.”

NAH will provide periodic updates on implementation progress via the 2030 Strategic Plan webpage.

      5) close all facilities other than Flagstaff!(due to cuts in Medicaid)

That part was omitted, because it was true.

      Thanks Republican voters!

Experts Say Rural Emergency Rooms Are Increasingly Run Without Doctors

This is the case with many Northern Arizona hospitals and clinics. Nurses are fantastic! Intensive Care Nurses saved my life three times in a single night.
But doctors have a higher education and licensing requirements for a reason. As the story indicates, hiring Nurse Practitioners is cheaper until the lawsuits for malpractice start flowing in from patients and their families harmed or killed because the facility they went to for help had nobody qualified to properly help them in their time of need. When I’m sick with the flu or break an arm I want a Nurse caring for me. When I have cancer or heart failure I think I’d rather see a physician who trained in and specializes in those practices for years rather than by a nurse thrust into the practice by economic necessity. Every American who believes in science and medicine deserve the best healthcare our wealthy oligarchy country can provide. Sadly the Oligarchs don’t feel this way and would rather see all of us peasants die off. That’s where anti vaxer anti science RFK Jr comes in. He’s here to ensure no Americans vaccinate against anything, eat road kill and swim in cesspools! And King Trump is applauding his court jesters buffoonery. After all COVID that killed millions of Americans was just Kung Flu (Trump’s not racist term according to Trump) the sniffles and could be cured with a UV light up ones ass, a shot of bleach and some equine meds and voila- you’re cured by being planted 6 feet under as worm food! Of course President Warp Speed was fully vaccinated with MRNA vaccines he approved and subsequent anti viral meds while hospitalized in M’erica’s premier Military Hospital Walter Reed Army Hospital where he will continue to receive premier science based medical care for the rest of his life while he destroys the VA and Civilian healthcare systems. Same goes for every Congressional and Senate member regardless of how many crimes against M’erican’s they commit in order to line their greedy pockets!
