Sedona, AZ — A new exhibit is now open at the Sedona Heritage Museum. “Two Nations One Homeland” explores the connections between the American and Polish people, with a particular emphasis on the role of Polish officers Tadeusz Kosciuszk and Casimir Pulaski who fought alongside Americans in the Continental Army during the American Revolution.
The exhibit will run through the end of July, 2026. It is part of the Sedona Heritage Museum’s commemoration of America 250. It was developed for the Arizona Polish Festival, and was previously shown at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Phoenix. It is brought to Sedona in collaboration with Sedona Sister Cities, which has a Friendship Agreement with Jasło, Poland. The Sister City relationship is featured in the exhibit.
“This exhibit is an excellent opportunity, at the height of our nation’s 250th birthday celebrations, to examine what makes America truly great: multiculturalism,” said Nate Meyers, executive director of the Sedona Heritage Museum. “To be able to partner with Sedona Sister Cities to bring this exhibit to our community, and to highlight the growing relationship between Sedona and Jasło is very special.”
“History comes alive when we see how the friendship between Poland and America, forged during the Revolution by heroes like Kosciuszko and Pulaski, directly inspires our work today,” said Edyta Wieczorek, Country Representative to Poland for Sister Cities International and Chair of the Jasło Committee for Sedona Sister Cities. “This exhibit is a beautiful reflection of America’s multicultural roots, celebrating not just our shared past but the thriving cultural and educational connections we are building between Sedona and Jasło. Happy 250th Birthday America! Za kolejne 250 lat wolności, partnerstwa i wspólnych wartości! (To another 250 years of freedom, partnership, and shared values!)”
