Sedona, AZ  — In the heart of red rock country, beneath Sedona’s iconic sky and spiritual glow, the city gathered in reverence on Friday, June 13  for the much-anticipated unveiling of Eternal Light—a breathtakingly beautiful new sculpture by world-renowned artist James Muir.

The unveiling took place at the roundabout along Scenic Route 179 near the Chapel of the Holy Cross, drawing a crowd of Sedona socialites, art lovers, artists, civic leaders, and community members. The moment was as powerful as the piece itself—both mystical and monumental.

The sculpture, fittingly named Eternal Light, features a solar-powered beam that illuminates the Chapel, designed to guide drivers and uplift spirits. But beyond the engineering lies artistry layered with profound symbolism. According to Muir, the work contains hidden messages—each carefully embedded to ignite the curiosity and contemplation of art lovers across the globe.

Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow addressed the crowd with heartfelt gratitude, calling the installation “majestic in both form and intention.”

City Arts & Culture Coordinator Nancy Lattanzi took a moment to thank Diane and Gary Carson, who generously donated $65,000 to bring this vision to life. Their philanthropic spirit now stands immortalized in bronze and brilliance.

Both Rabbi Alicia Magal and Father Ignatius Mazanowski lent their voices and blessings in a touching interfaith dedication—Rabbi Magal even announcing she would offer the Eternal Light prayer at the  Shabbat service.

As for James Muir himself—he humbly declared that this sculpture was not solely of his doing. “I am merely the vessel,” he said, explaining that the piece was divinely inspired and created through him, not by him.

Diane and Gary Carlson expressed overwhelming joy at the final result, sharing how honored they felt to contribute something of such lasting beauty to the Sedona landscape.

In closing, James and Linda Muir extended sincere thanks to everyone who helped this moment shine—from city officials to spiritual leaders and to each soul who gathered today. Together, they’ve ensured that Eternal Light is more than just a sculpture—it is a beacon for Sedona’s sacred essence.

For MY AZ TV, and Sedona.biz I’m Allen Elfman, shining a light on what truly matters.

A correction….it is Diane and Gary CARSON who donated the $65,000 for the sculpture…..not CARLSON.
