Yavapai County, AZ — With youth vaping a continuous cause for concern and misinformation running rampant, MATFORCE and Humboldt Unified School District are inviting parents, educators, and concerned community members to attend an upcoming class that cuts through the confusion: “Let’s Talk: So You Think You Know About Vaping?” This free presentation is designed to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools they need to understand and address vaping among youth.

Despite increased regulation, the e-cigarette market continues to evolve, often faster than public health messaging can keep up. This session will bring clarity to the issue by exploring:

    • A brief but eye-opening history of the e-cigarette and vaping industry, including surprising regulatory loopholes

    • The physical and mental health effects associated with both nicotine and marijuana vaping

    • Trends in youth vape use and how vape culture influences young people

    • Effective, age-appropriate ways to talk to youth about the risks of vaping

    • An interactive display showcasing what parents and caregivers should look for in a child’s room—including hidden vapes and related paraphernalia

“We want to empower our community with facts, not fear,” said Merilee Fowler, Executive Director of MATFORCE. “By understanding what our youth are exposed to and how to have informed conversations, we can take a meaningful step toward prevention.”
