The Diamond Violin is a one-of a kind, million-dollar instrument handcrafted in Cremona, Italy by Master Violin Artisan Francesco Toto. Carved from a 300-year old piece of wood discovered in an Italian monastery, the design and creation of this most exquisite violin ever made commenced over one year ago, created especially for Edvin Marton. Inlaid with over 201 diamonds, decorated with Chopard diamond hearts, and filigree ornamentation featuring the simpur flower and the hummingbird, the Diamond Violin will be brought directly from Italy to Phoenix, AZ for a press day, Wednesday, 24 September, advancing Edvin’s Prince of the Violin show at the Sedona Performing Arts Center on October 4, 2014.

The World Premiere of this extraordinary instrument in the hands of one of the world’s most recognized and beloved young virtuoso artists, Edvin Marton, is a stellar presentation for the arts community in Sedona and greater Northern Arizona.

Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
