Sedona, AZ — The Humane Society of Sedona has launched a new public low-cost spay and neuter program to help make essential veterinary care more accessible for pet owners throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley.
Spaying and neutering pets is one of the most effective ways to reduce pet overpopulation, keep pets healthy, and decrease the number of animals entering shelters each year. The program offers affordable spay and neuter surgeries for both dogs and cats performed by shelter veterinarian, Dr. Audrey Yank, and her experienced veterinary tech team.
“Spay and neuter is one of the most important tools we have to prevent animal homelessness,” said Sarah Porter, Director of Operations. “By offering affordable options to the public, we hope to help pets stay healthy and reduce the number of animals in need of shelter care in our community and beyond.”

Spay & Neuter surgeries are open to the public and performed on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Humane Society of Sedona and pre-scheduling is required. Pet guardians can schedule by calling the shelter at 928-282-4679 or using the scheduling form on their website found at https://humanesocietyofsedona.org/spay-neuter/
As part of its commitment to supporting pet owners in the community, the Humane Society of Sedona will also be hosting a Community Vaccine & Microchip Clinic on Saturday, March 21st from 10:30am-1:00pm at the shelter, located at 2115 Shelby Drive in Sedona.
The clinic is open to limited-income families in the community. Services will be available on a walk-in basis only, and space is limited. Each household may bring up to four pets. The vaccine clinic is a well-attended event, and the shelter recommends showing up early to avoid long waits.
