18th annual cross-country pet adoption tour brings prizes, pets and fundraising fun to Sedona PetSmart
SEDONA, AZ – August 25, 2026 –  The Humane Society of Sedona (HSS) is inviting animal lovers to join in the fun as FIDO Friendly Magazine’s 18th Annual Get Your Licks on Route 66® cross-country pet adoption tour makes a stop in Sedona on Thursday, September 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart Sedona, located at 2356 W. State Route 89A in the Safeway Plaza.
The annual tour travels along historic Route 66 and across the country to raise awareness for pet adoption while supporting local animal shelters and rescue organizations along the way. During its Sedona stop, the community can help support homeless animals right here at home while having a chance to take home prizes from national tour sponsors.
For a donation, visitors can spin the Get Your Licks on Route 66® Prize Wheel and win pet products and other prizes. Best of all, 100% of donations collected during the Sedona event will benefit the animals at the Humane Society of Sedona.
Prize sponsors include Charlie Bear, Buddy Belt Dog Harness, HandsOn Grooming Gloves, Brutus Bone Broth, Mike’s Bike Tow Leash and more.
HSS may also have a few adoptable furry friends on hand to meet visitors throughout the event, offering another opportunity for the community to learn about the animals currently waiting for homes.
The Sedona stop comes during a milestone year for both Route 66 and the Humane Society of Sedona, making it an especially fitting opportunity to celebrate the community connections that have helped animals find their way home for generations.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, spin the wheel, meet the HSS team and help make a difference for local homeless pets.
