    Sedona News – Announcing an exciting new film shooting in Sedona. Come meet the filmmaker, Monique Sorgen, and enjoy a mini-film festival showcasing five of her most awarded short films, followed by a Q & A, and an opportunity to learn about her upcoming feature film project, “One Day in Sedona”.

    SORRY, NOT SORRY (7:32 min): A couple’s one-upmanship escalates to ridiculous heights after a man eats his wife’s plums. Inspired by the William Carlos Williams poem, “This is Just to Say.”

    RANDOM CHECK (12:30 min): When Sara, who wears a hijab, arrives on an international flight to San Diego for Comic Con, she is held up for hours by Homeland Security during a “random” check.

    LYING IS COMPLICATED (4 min): Melanie tries to get her fake fiancé to come to dinner with her so she can keep up the ruse about how she’s getting married, thus forcing her married friends to hang out with her as her bridesmaids.

    Starring: Kelly Vrooman & Nick Creegan

    CODEPENDENT SOCKS! (26:24 min): Sitcom about Steven, a civil rights lawyer with a questionable sense of personal boundaries who works at his law firm with his most recent ex-wife, Joy, while his current wife, Bliss, employs her own ex-husband, Giovanni, to help her out around the house. Inspired by a true situation… But with sock puppets.

    Starring the voices of: Wallace Langham, Zainab Johnson, Reiko Aylesworth, Emma Fassler, Kaitlyn Tanimoto, Jacopo Rampini, Lindsey Loon

    ROCK A BYE BABY (5:35 min): A drug deal goes wrong when instead of cocaine the dealers find out they have a baby, and one of them refuses to give it back. Winner of Sedona International Film Festival Director’s Choice Award 2021.

    Starring: Mo McRae, Scott Krinsky, Jessica Oyelowo

    The short films will be followed by a Q & A and a short talk about her new film ONE DAY IN SEDONA: Two strangers in their 50s, both going through pivotal moments in their lives, meet on a hike and share a deep connection.

    A wine and cheese reception will take place afterwards in the courtyard.

    Meet the Filmmaker Monique Sorgen will be presented at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday, Sept. 23 at 4:00 p.m. All tickets are free of charge.
