Vin de Filles has raised $206,000 in 5 years for survivors of domestic and sexual violence

CORNVILLE, Ariz. — For the fifth and final time, Vin de Filles guests raised a glass to all the chefs, beverage makers and volunteers who were on deck at Page Springs Cellars in October to toast everyone involved and presented them with a standing ovation.

Ias a signature moment that everyone in attendance won’t soon forget.

Vin de Filles, a wine 100% female produced from grape to bottle, exceed expectations once again in their final fundraiser for Verde Valley Sanctuary (VVS), recently announcing a total of $60,000 for the organization whose mission is to provide safety, services, and comfort to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

“I can’t stress how important VVS’ work is,” Page Springs Cellars co-owner Gayle Glomski said. “It feels like (especially) in this day and age people should be elevating each other and not hurting one another.”

Since the Vin de Filles project began, Glomski said she’s been approached by “many” women with stories of abuse and how they relied on VVS, or other nonprofits in their respective states, to help them get on their feet.

“Most people caught in these abusive situations don’t have families to rely on for help,” Glomski said. “They need people who understand the needs and have the resources for support.”

Enter VVS, which has been serving the Verde Valley area and beyond for more than 30 years. The agency provides a 24/7/365 crisis hotline, pet-friendly emergency shelter, transitional housing, lay legal advocacy, community-based advocacy and youth violence prevention education to the local community.

“I have been incredulous of how this project started. The support from women volunteering to help in the vineyard and cellar, the award-winning wines we’ve made, and how enthusiastic people have been about purchasing our wine, sponsoring and attending our events, or directly donating to VVS,” Glomski said. “Every year exceeding our financial goal has been thrilling and raising $60,000 this year being the last year of the event portion of Vin de Filles gives a feeling of satisfaction.”

Glomski said that her team still plans to produce the Vin de Filles wine at Page Springs Cellars, with proceeds going directly to VVS. That team includes Lauren Maldonado, co-owner of The Art of Wine and Vino di Sedona, and assistant winemaker Bree Nation, both of which play a large role in the Vin de Filles event and brand every year.

In five years, the event has raised $206,000 in total for VVS.

“The outpouring of support for Vin de Filles and VVS in 2025 was incredibly heart-warming, to say the least,” Maldonado said. “Being that this was our fifth and final fundraiser event, we had high hopes this year’s event would surpass the amount of money raised in previous years. Exceeding our financial goal and raising $60,000 was icing on the cake and truly an amazing display of support to Vin de Filles and VVS.”

Nation said that every year she is moved to see the community come together to support the Vin de Filles.

“This being the fifth and final event was even more awe inspiring,” Nation said. “It is difficult to describe how much my heart swells every time I think about the project [and] how much we were able to raise and knowing how much it will help.”

Nation added that the work VVS does every day is “incredible.”

“It’s heartbreaking to think that there are so many victims, but it’s paramount that there are institutions [like VVS] there to help when these atrocities are acted upon,” Nation said. “I am honored to have been part of helping raise funds for VVS and also to spread the word about the amazing support VVS continually provides this community when they have nowhere else to turn.”

VVS Executive Director Jessye Johnson said witnessing the evolution of the Vin de Filles over the past five years has been “astounding and overwhelming.”

“And while bidding adieu to the VDF dinner was bittersweet and emotional, the long-term benefits of this project will continue for those directly involved and for VVS, its beneficiary,” Johnson said. “There is not enough gratitude to properly thank Gayle [Glomski], Lauren [Maldonado], Bree [Nation] and all of the VDF dinner guests for their passion and steadfast support of Verde Valley Sanctuary. We are thrilled that the project will continue and that we will witness yet another evolution.”

The Vin de Filles in October featured “The Taste of Terroir,” which included Holly Skaggs, founder and CEO of Wild Tonic, Abby Rothwell, head chef at Oak Creek Vineyards, Kim Musket, owner and winemaker of Musket Cellars & Vineyard, Elysse Voyer, chef and owner at Just Delivered, Kimberly Asmundson, owner of Deep Sky Vineyards, Laura Chamberlin, a professional chef in Flagstaff, Neeta Mittal, co-owner of LXV Wines, Kylie Daniels, owner of The Meading Room, Lily Christopher, owner of Queen of Cups, and Dara Wong, pastry chef and owner of Shift Kitchen & Bar.
