Now an annual film festival tradition, Sedona audiences will be able to see all of the short films nominated for Academy Awards before the Oscar telecast on March 10. A perennial hit with audiences around the country (and now the world), don’t miss this year’s selection of shorts. All of the Live Action Short Film nominees will be featured in this program.

The Oscar-nominated Live Action Shorts Program will include:

    • The After (United Kingdom): “The After” is a powerful and affecting story that follows Dayo, a Londoner who has to reconnect with himself and society after witnessing a devastating random attack in the capital.

    • Red, White and Blue (USA): Rachel (Brittany Snow) is a single parent living paycheck to paycheck. When an unexpected pregnancy threatens to unravel her already precarious position, she’s forced to cross state lines in search of an abortion.

    • Knight of Fortune (Denmark): The loss of a loved one, the grief, the risk of yellow skin, and a coffin, that is too much for Karl to face.

    • Invincible (Canada): Inspired by a true story, Invincible recounts the last 48 hours in the life of Marc-Antoine Bernier, a 14-year-old boy on a desperate quest for freedom.

    • The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar (USA, United Kingdom): Chronicles a variety of stories, but the main one follows Henry Sugar, who is able to see through objects and predict the future with the help of a book he stole.

The Oscar Live Action Shorts Program will show: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and 17 at 3:30 p.m.; and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 19, 20 and 22 at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
