Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is taking its show on the road with its new “Movies on the Move” mobile movie truck and outdoor film experience!
The next event of the summer will be Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Hillside Sedona, featuring the blockbuster big screen sensation “Footloose”. Showtime will be at dusk (approximately 7:45-8:00 p.m.).
Bring your lawn chairs and your family and friends and enjoy “Starry Night Cinema” under the stars on the festival’s giant outdoor screen with state-of-the-art projection and sound! The festival’s mobile concession stand will have movie treats available.
“Footloose” is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Song for both “Footloose” and “Let’s Hear It For the Boy”.
Moving in from Chicago, newcomer Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon) is in shock when he discovers the small Midwestern town he now calls home has made dancing and rock music illegal. As he struggles to fit in, Ren faces an uphill battle to change things. With the help of his new friend, Willard Hewitt (Christopher Penn), and defiant teen Ariel Moore (Lori Singer), he might loosen up this conservative town. But Ariel’s influential father, Reverend Shaw Moore (John Lithgow), stands in the way.
This “Starry Night Cinema” event is presented by the Sedona International Film Festival and sponsored by Hillside Sedona.
The Hillside Merchants and Restaurants will have other food and drink options as well as special promotions at the shops, businesses and galleries.
“Footloose” will be shown outdoors at Hillside Sedona (671 State Route 179) on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at Hillside Sedona.
Tickets are only $7 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.
