Festival partners with Basecamp and Sedona Beer Compnay for outdoor film experience

Sedona, AZ –It’s “Big Screen at Basecamp” as the Sedona International Film Festival partners with Sedona Beer Company for its “Movies on the Move” cinema under the stars outdoor film experience at Basecamp in West Sedona — every Wednesday in the summer season!

The first event of the summer will be Thursday, June 12 featuring the blockbuster big screen sensation “American Graffiti” at dusk.

Enjoy the comfort of the Basecamp patio or bring your lawn chairs and your family and friends and enjoy “Cinema Under the Stars” with the festival’s giant outdoor screen with state-of-the-art projection and sound!

Basecamp will offer a selection of craft beers, food and beverages (and a special menu item themed to each film), with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Sedona International Film Festival.

Join us for a nostalgic look at this timeless American classic that launched the careers of some of today’s biggest stars and directors! “American Graffiti” was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

On the last day of summer vacation in 1962, friends Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), Steve (Ronny Howard), Terry (Charles Martin Smith) and John (Paul Le Mat) cruise the streets of small-town California while a mysterious disc jockey (Wolfman Jack) spins classic rock ‘n’ roll tunes.

It’s the last night before their grown-up lives begin, and Steve’s high-school sweetheart, a hot-to-trot blonde, a bratty adolescent and a disappearing angel in a Thunderbird provide all the excitement they can handle.

“American Graffiti” also stars Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips, Beau Gentry, Harrison Ford and others.

“American Graffiti”” will be shown outdoors at Basecamp Sedona Beer Company (70 Dry Creek Road) on Thursday, June 12 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at Basecamp and the Sedona Public Library.

Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.

For advance tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Visit the film festival office at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona to get tickets in person. For more information or to order online, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
