    logo_cornvillecommunityCornville AZ (March 25, 2014) – Join the Cornville Community Association April 9th at 6:00 PM at Oak Creek School. Bob Snyder of Windmill Gardens will present “It’s Time to Start Gardening” with the do’s and don’ts of spring gardening. Marion Johnson and Ava from Yavapai County Master Gardener’s Association will do a Power Point presentation on pest control and gopher problems. There will be a question and answer period following each speaker. The meeting is open to all members and visitors at no cost.

    Guest speakers will follow the business meeting which includes election of board members, approval of the 2014 budget, and annual Committee Activity Reports.

    The May meeting will host Supervisor Tom Thurman and some county staff. In June we’ll have the Cornville Chili Cook-off so get your recipes ready.

    Cornville Community Association meets on the second Weds of each month except July & December – and for 2014 also August. Planning & Zoning meets the first week of the month, while Public Works meets the third Weds. Details of these meetings can be found on their new website www.CornvilleAZ.org

    Yes, That Was Biden at the
    State of the Union Address

    It was about three minutes into President Biden’s speech in his State of the Union address when I found myself searching for clues as to the speaker’s real identity. “It just couldn’t be him,” I thought. An imposter had taken his place and was getting away with it!” Where was the stumbling, fumbling, bumbling President America has grown to love? What the heck was going on? His demeaner was confident. He was lucid. He did not lose himself somewhere in his mind between sentences. He hardly referred to his notes and went on delivering his message in an almost totally coherent way. He even went off script when Republican hecklers using their doth-the-lady-protest too-loud defense against him, protesting loudly after being accused by Biden that they were out to wipeout Medicare and Social Security.
