Sedona AZ (October 21, 2021) – Calling all moldy, squishy jack-o-lanterns: because decomposing organics make landfills the third largest producers of greenhouse gas methane, the city of Sedona’s Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Compost Crowd, will collect pumpkins at Posse Grounds Park during the following times to keep them from going to the landfill:
- Monday, Nov. 1, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Look for Compost Crowd to be set up in the parking lot near the softball fields and so long as they are free of heavy paint or glitter, they will make sure all pumpkins are composted, free of charge.
