DEMOCRATS HOST “Statewide Candidates and Congressional Campaign Updates” in PERSON and at HOME

    Friday, July 17, 9:30 am – 11:00 am

Sedona, AZ — The Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) host “Statewide Candidates and Congressional Campaign Updates,” with Attorney General Kris Mayes, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, and CD2 Congressional Candidate Jonathan Nez on Friday, July 17, 9:30 to 11:00 am at the Sedona Community Center, 2615 Melody Lane in West Sedona and on zoom. Candidates will discuss their policy agendas and answer questions.

Attorney General Kris Mayes is Arizona’s top law enforcement officer.  As former Chair of the AZ Corporation Commission, she saved Arizona citizens billions of dollars, while advocating for clean sources of energy. Born and raised in Arizona, Mayes holds a degree in political science and journalism from Arizona State University (ASU), a Masters of Public Administration from Columbia University, and a law degree from ASU.  Elected as Arizona’s 21st Secretary of State in 2022, Adrian Fontes is an Arizona native, veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attorney, and former Maricopa County Recorder.  Fontes is a defender of voting rights, committed to preserving integrity in our elections, and making it easier for registered voters to cast their ballots.  Jonathan Nez began his public service at age 29 as Vice President of the Shonto Chapter.  As President from 2019 to 2023, Nez guided the Navajo Nation through the COVID-19 pandemic while expanding healthcare, housing for veterans, public safety, and infrastructure, including improvements to roads and access to clean water and electricity for thousands of residents.

A $10 donation is requested per person for in-person coffee, tea, and light refreshments.  A zoom option is also available.

DORR is an all-volunteer Democratic Club for Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, the Verde Valley, and surrounding communities that welcomes all independent-minded citizens. For more information, please visit https://democratsoftheredrocks.org/.

Why didn’t DORR endorse Governor Katie Hobbs who has saved Arizonan’s daily from the Fake Electors who got themselves elected during what the President insists was a “rigged” “worse than third world election” and have done absolutely nothing for the state they were elected to serve?

Arizona Wine Country Artists Village Returns to Cottonwood November 20–22 A Free, Family-Friendly Fine Art Showcase Where Art Comes to Life COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (October 12, 2026) – The Arizona Wine Country Artists Village returns to Old Town Cottonwood for its final autumn showcase from November 20–22, 2026. The free outdoor fine art and craft fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Organized by Jerome-based artists John and Lauri Maeder of PBSW Events, LLC, and hosted by the City of Cottonwood, the November event presents a brand-new weekend for art lovers, holiday shoppers, and wine country visitors to engage directly with premier regional creators. “Where Art Comes to Life” serves as the driving vision for the event, which offers an interactive alternative to traditional retail shopping. Attendees can watch live artistic demonstrations, learn the techniques behind handcrafted works, and purchase one-of-a-kind, investment-quality pieces directly from the makers. Held at the Old Town Activity Park (187 E. Pima Street), the pet- and family-friendly grounds sit just steps from Main Street’s vibrant collection of tasting rooms, local dining, and boutiques within the federally recognized Verde Valley AVA. Highlights for the November 20–22 Showcase: Curated Juried Art: A lineup of top regional artists and craftspeople showcasing original studio works across various mediums. Interactive Community Scavenger Hunt & Raffle: A scavenger hunt featuring donated artist originals, with entries eligible for a $500 cash grand prize drawing. Hands-On Children’s Art Tent: A dedicated creative zone where young visitors can craft their own projects. Established in 2024, the quarterly Artists Village series continues to bolster the local creative economy while celebrating the unique intersection of fine art and wine tourism in Northern Arizona. The fair is held four times each year. For more details regarding the Arizona Wine Country Artists Village, visit the official website at https://artists-village.com.
