Northern AZ Climate Change AllianceCamp Verde AZ (October 15, 2019) – Flagstaff lead Meteorologist, Darren McCollum presents: “Climate Change and the Impacts on the Southwest”. This community event is free to the public and will be at the Camp Verde Community Library, 130 Black Bridge Rd from 11am-1pm.

Please join us for this presentation by Flagstaff Meteorologist Darren McCollum. The program will give a brief overview on climate related impacts being observed globally and nationally. It will explore why it is that human activities are changing the climate of our planet. Darren McCollum will present results from the National Climate Assessment including what changes are being observed in the southwest U.S./Arizona as well as predicted changes for the rest of this century. This presentation will shine the light on how climate change is a local issue. With this knowledge, we can better understand why we, as individuals need to begin to get involved, make personal changes and sacrifices to safeguard our community and begin to mitigate the negative impact of climate change in the southwest.
