SEDONA, Ariz. — The Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Sedona is looking for applicants to fill two positions that will soon be open.
The commission, established by city council, consists of seven volunteers appointed by the council. They play a critical role in the city’s planning process and serve as the city council’s advisor on land use, growth and development issues. Commissioners make recommendations to the city council on Community Plan updates, Land Development Code amendments, and zone changes applications. They also make the final decision on conditional use permits and review appeals of actions by the city’s community development director related to development review and subdivision applications.
Applicants must live in the Sedona city limits and should have interest, experience, or knowledge in land use or related fields including, but not limited to, architecture, construction, landscaping, and planning.
The term of service for these seats begins once appointed and expires on October 31, 2029.
Applications may be picked up at the City Clerk’s office, at 102 Roadrunner Drive, or by filling out this online form.
Mail or bring a completed application to the City Clerk’s Office or email it to cityclerksdept@sedonaaz.gov. Application reviews begin after 5 p.m. on Monday Sept. 14, 2026, and will be accepted until the positions are filled.
