    logo_campverdecommunitylibraryCamp Verde AZ (September 21, 2019) – Join us at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 3rd for a preview of the Ken Burns PBS film, COUNTRY MUSIC.

    Step back in time and journey through the compelling history of a truly American art form with COUNTRY MUSIC, a new eight-part, 16-hour film directed by Ken Burns, and produced by Burns and his long-time collaborators Dayton Duncan and Julie Dunfey.  The film premiered on PBS Sunday, September 15 and ends on Wednesday, September 25.  Each episode will stream on PBS.org and PBS apps for a period of three weeks. PBS Passport members will be able to stream the entire series for a period of six months beginning Sunday, September 15.

    Sedona Gift Shop

    We will be showing a 45 minute preview of the film’s 8 episodes.  The DVD boxed set will be available soon to check out from the library.  The book that accompanies the film, COUNTRY MUSIC: An Illustrated History, is already available for checkout.

    Camp Verde Community Library is located just off of Montezuma Castle Highway at 130 Black Bridge Road, Camp Verde AZ.     What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
